……And since you will be doing more riding your scoot will need a great new oil that I have been testing for about 4 months. I took the bike to Docs’ Cycle the end of August for an oil change. Out with ‘Spectro’ and in with ‘Dynacycle’. Doc of course said that he tried them all and he doubts if Dynacycle would be any better than the rest. Well, after riding the bike all this time I have to say that Doc is incorrect.
Initially I rode the Key West Poker Run and put on about 550 miles round trip and running around Key West. Sharon and I left in the heat of the day and I felt the engine was not as hot as it usually got on that trip. When we got into a little traffic the engine did not overheat as it usually did - no knocking or ticking, and I could “almost” touch the engine. And while riding around Key West the engine was a lot cooler. I didn’t have a temp guage but I felt it was at least 15-20 degrees cooler. The reason for this is that the Viscosity is 6.12, which is higher than Amsoil, Mobile 1, Golden Spectro... well all other top selling motorcycle oils.
There is also less friction so the engine runs cooler, and I should expect to get longer engine life as well. After the Key West run, I also had better gas mileage. I usually got 37-38 MPG and now I get 41-43 MPG. A 3-6 MPG increase. This will add up when we are paying $5 for Premium in a few months.
I also noticed a little more horsepower when pulling out into traffic or going around other vehicles. And the throttle is much more responsive when I’m already at highway speed, for passing or getting around vehicles that sport Canadian Plates... especially near Dania.
So after 4 months of riding in all sorts of situations, plus riding to Heaven Cycles Party in South Miami and the Toy Run where I ride “next” to the parade to take photos and video, from 10 to 85(ish) MPH (with my favorite police escort and scooter echanic, Mike Fazio) to keep up with or get ahead of the pack to do my job... plus a lot of stopping and starting the bike... I am sold on Dynacycle oil and will be doing my future oil changes with their 20W50 Semi-Synthetic product.
For complete information, performance tests and where to buy, visit their website at www.dynacycleoil.com, or call Wally Whiting, Owner and President at 732-605-9003 and tell him you read about Dynacycle Oil in WOTR and you want to get a case for your future oil changes.
